We
will be conducting the business of
drinking fine beverages, eating great
food, telling tall tales, and
genuinely having fun.
Additionally, we will actually spend a
few minutes on club business.
Topics to include:
- 2013 Joe Matava -
race management feedback
- Hill Climb - do we
continue or not?
- Pay your 2013 dues
and sign the waiver. I want to
ride with you, but I don't want to
go to court with you...
- Place your clothing
order. If you have holes in
your bike shorts...it's time to
order. Not mentioning names
here...you know who you are!
- Elect officers - Jeff
Brain (Treasurer) has expressed the
desire to hand you a checkbook with
over $13,000 in it...humm. The
job entails the following:
1.
Receiving and depositing club funds
2.
Tracking membership and clothing credits
3.
Helping to supervise our race promoter
4.
Paying the bills.
5.
Renewing our nonprofit corporation
designation with the Wash. State Sec. of
State.
6.
Renewing our business license with the
state.
7.
Paying the sales tax on race entry fees to
the Dept of Revenue.
Just a reminder to WCT folks that
currently live in other States or
Countries - Don't delay, order your
Airline Tickets today! If you
need a place to stay, I'll volunteer
Tom Frank's house.
The Crystal Mountain Hill
Climb Time Trial is returning for 2012 on
Sunday
August 12. Details may be

Former Wheelsport member Adam Southerland
was involved in a serious accident on May
27. He is recovering and may be
headed home soon. Information is

The 2010 Joe Matava Memorial Criterium was a
big hit - over 200 racers turned out on a
gorgeous 4th of July in Burien for a great day
of racing. Here's a photo from the 2009 women's
race, courtesy of Kerry Ryan

Many thanks to all the club members that worked
so hard to put together this race.
The 2010 Washington state hill climb was a
great success, 116 riders registered, the
weather was perfect, tailwinds up the valley and
smiles were everywhere.

Wheelsport Cycling Team has
been a USCF racing club since it's beginnings in
1964. The club's history is long and diverse,
and it's club
roster have included many well known names
from the Northwest cycling community. Wheelsport
can boast of a rich heritage of past and present
champions including 1981 National Road Race
Champion, Tom
Broznowski, 2002 age group
world record holder Bob
Kaye, and 2001 four time
gold medalist at the world championships Keith Harrison.
The goals of the club are to promote cycling,
and competitive cycling in particular. We are
primarily a developmental racing club and
new members are always welcome!
